The reason the company exists. Six years on the tools across London before founding Doorz in early 2024. Handles every quote personally. If you've messaged Doorz London after 9pm and got a reply, it was probably Jaspreet.
Why Doorz London exists.
Doorz London started on the back of six years' frustration. Founder Jaspreet Gondara spent those six years on the tools fitting doors across the city — and on too many jobs, watched the same pattern repeat: clients paying double for the same door, and corners being cut on the details that actually mattered when a property mattered most. This page is the longer version of how we got from there to here, what we're trying to build, and the people doing the work.
Why we started
For six years, Jaspreet worked across London on internal door fits, HMO conversions, flat refurbishments and fire-door packages for letting agents. The same conversation happened on roughly half of every quote-stage call: "the builder quoted me £4,800 for this", "the showroom said £6,200", "the contractor wouldn't give me a price until I'd paid a survey fee". And on the doors themselves, the standards drifted — smoke seals skipped, brass hinges used where fire-rated should be, certificates never produced.
It became clear there was a real gap. A door specialist that priced fairly, didn't hide the manufacturer cost, and did the actual installation to the standard the law expected — none of that needed to be a luxury. So in early 2024 the decision was made: stop fitting doors for somebody else's company. Start one that did this differently.
What we believe
Three principles that shape every decision we make:
- Price transparency. Every quote over £500 includes the manufacturer trade invoice for the doors. You see exactly what we paid, and you see our fitting fee separately. No hidden mark-up. Ever.
- Specialist focus. We are not general builders. We do doors and the carpentry directly around the opening. That focus lets us be faster, cheaper and more accurate than a contractor who does a bit of everything.
- Documentation by default. Every fire door we install comes with the manufacturer certificate, a signed installation record, photographs, and an ironmongery list — delivered within 48 hours. It's what we'd want as a buyer of the property. It's what we give every client.
Our vision
We want to become London's most-trusted residential fire-door specialist — the company HMO landlords, managing agents and homeowners reach for when the job needs doing properly the first time. Not the biggest. Not the loudest. Just the one with the cleanest reputation, the most honest pricing, and the strongest installation record across the city.
Borough by borough. Job by job. We're growing carefully so the standard stays the same on door number one and door number five thousand.
Our goals — concrete and measurable
- Same-hour response on every quote request during working times — Mon-Sat, 7am-6pm.
- Fixed-price guarantee. Once we've surveyed or seen photos, the price doesn't move unless the spec changes.
- 48-hour documentation pack on every fire-door installation. Council-ready. Managing-agent-ready.
- Borough-by-borough coverage across all 32 London boroughs — with locally-experienced routes so we know the licensing nuances each council expects.
- Continuous improvement on every job — every install reviewed, every quote benchmarked, every client invited back to use us again.
What we don't do
We don't claim certifications we haven't earned. We don't subcontract installations to people we don't know. We don't quote a price and then add for "unforeseens" at the end. We don't hide who's coming to your property — every job is led personally by either Jaspreet or K. Sidhu, with the team you meet on these pages.
Meet the team.
Five people, all hands-on. The team you actually deal with when you call, message or hire Doorz London.
Thirty-two years fitting doors and joinery across London. High-rise blocks, period flats, HMOs, new-builds, listed buildings — there isn't an opening type he hasn't seen. Every fire-door installation gets walked and signed off by K. Sidhu before our team leaves site.
Four years working alongside K. Sidhu on multi-door HMO packages and block-level flat-entrance projects. Leads the on-site fit when K. Sidhu is splitting his time between two jobs. The hands behind a lot of the recent Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham HMO work.
Often the first voice clients hear at Doorz London. Handles incoming quote requests, schedules site surveys, coordinates the trades and assembles every documentation pack we send out. If your client experience with Doorz feels organised, that's M. Patel.
Learning the trade under K. Sidhu. Currently assists on installations across London while working toward a full carpentry qualification. Doorz London's commitment to bringing through the next generation of London door-fitters properly — not as cheap labour, as a real apprenticeship.
What Doorz London Actually Does
Doorz London is a specialist door and fire-door fitting company covering all 32 London boroughs. We install internal doors, front doors, FD30S and FD60 fire doors, HMO door packages and flat-entrance fire doors. Where the opening needs trim work — architrave, skirting, frame repairs — that gets handled by the same team, in the same visit.
The reason we exist is in the section above this paragraph. Read it. Doorz London is two people leading every job: the founder who priced it, and the master carpenter who signs it off. No call-centre. No subcontractor lottery.
How We Work
You send photos, the postcode and the door type by WhatsApp or the quote form. We reply within an hour during working times with the likely route and a price band. For HMOs, blocks and anything compliance-led, we arrange a free on-site survey before quoting. Every fire-door installation follows the current UK code of practice — certified intumescent strips, smoke seals, three CE/UKCA-marked hinges and a closer where required — and you receive a written installation record and photos at sign-off.
What We Do Not Claim
We don't pretend to hold accreditations we haven't earned. We are a Companies House registered, ICO-registered London business that installs to the current UK code of practice for fire doors. If your council, inspector, managing agent or fire risk assessor has set a specific requirement, send it — we'll quote honestly against it and tell you up-front if it's outside what we can sign off.
